Quick Overview

Should I Be Using Wildfire Pepper Spray For Self Defense?

There are many forms of self-defense products that you will find in the world today. Many of them start off being used by police agencies or military across the globe, with a great number still being used by them today. If the product is something that is good enough for them to use like WildFire 4 oz Pepper Gel then it could be something that you should consider when thinking of, for the protection of you and your family.

Some regions are prone to the explosion of criminal activities, so to combat that crime, many people are looking to purchase wildfire pepper spray. This is a product that contains a cayenne pepper derivative that is called Oleoresin Capsicum, or OC. Whenever it is sprayed into the face of an attacker, it will bring about a variety of symptoms that are painful and unpleasant, including choking, shortness of breath, coughing and dilating of the eye capillaries that will cause temporary blindness. This temporary blindness from the spray will allow any victim extra time to escape to safety.

The Wildfire 18% Pepper Gel 4 oz model with Flip top actuator covers the target in a sticky, colored gel.

What Is Wildfire Pepper Spray?

Wildfire spray level of hotness is measured in Scoville heat units, or SHUs. This kind of spray will register at a whopping three million SHUs, which will make it among the more powerful sprays that are on the market today. The WildFire 4 oz Pepper Gel includes 18% OC when compared to the other kinds that are only at 10%, which makes it very strong. As a matter of fact, just one quick burst can disable any attacker, causing him/her to be incapacitated temporarily for around 45 minutes. The attacker will then be able to return to normal and without lasting effects, while allowing time for the victim to get away.

It is always best to look for the laws regarding the use of pepper spray before buying. The laws will vary from one state to another, so anyone looking to buy such pepper spray as personal safety needs to be aware of the legalities. For example, at the time that this piece is being written the state of Michigan will only allow OC sprays that have a concentration that is no more than 2% strength, while the state of Wisconsin will not allow products to be camouflaged and it may not have more than 10%.

Has anyone used the product yet in real life or a least tested it?

I had a several year old can of this stuff which I replaced with new. I then sprayed the edge of my landscaping with it to see if it would keep the neighbor's dog from going there. I made sure to not breathe it or get any near me while spraying. As I went to put the almost empty can in the recycle bin a few minutes later I curiously and stupidly sniffed near the top of the can which had not been sprayed for those few minutes and was dry and looked clean at the top. What ever was invisibly still there made my eyes water up and my nose run, and also made me almost gag. This went on for about 5 minutes. This just from the residual "whatever" that was left on the top after maybe 15 minutes of airing out. I would not want this stuff sprayed at me... ever! I have heard form my LEO friends that it may not work on someone hopped up on meth or similar drugs. That's where a bullet dispenser is useful.

Yes. On someone who has never been sprayed with pepper spray or doesn't eat hot food, it does work.
On someone who has been pepper sprayed like a lot of criminals have this product like other pepper sprays will not work.
Either the stinging will not be enough to effect the person or it will just act like water in the eyes and open up the sinuses.

I bought 3 cans of this stuff.Where is the expiration date?

It is at top of can above instruction and below the spray device a small band of black with 6 gray number example 031018.
Stands for 03/10/18

It says the experation date on the can right under keep out of reach from children. Looks like the writing on the can so it blends in well.

Pepper spray products are some of the more popular, using OC that comes from cayenne pepper. The hotness measurement is in Scoville heat units, with most of them being in the 2 million range. By comparison, a habanero pepper includes 300,000 SHUs.

Just one blast of pepper spray into the face of an attacker with pepper spray will cause shortness of breath, coughing, choking and temporary blindness, along with a great deal of burning pain. The wildfire pepper spray is one of the strongest options on the market, registering in at 3 million SHUs.

While shopping for WildFire 4 oz Pepper Gel, you will find five different sizes including .5 ounce, 1.5 ounce, 4 ounces, 9 ounces and also 1 pound. They will range from purse size to keychain size, to the heftier styles that a bounty hunter may carry with a pistol grip. The sizes are some of the widest variety industry-wide and there is bound to be a perfect one for all your needs.

This is a product that is nasty stuff and should always be used with caution. When used correctly, it is a nice product to have on hand in your home, business, auto, RV or taking out when you are on walks, runs, hiking and more. Note that the pepper spray maybe legal in your state, so be sure to check with the restrictions in your location before buying.

WILDFIRE 18% PEPPER SPRAY is hot, hot, hot. Wildfire is 18% Oleo Resin Capsicum (pepper) -- a derivative of 3 Million Scoville Heat Units (SHU).

If the attacker attempts to wipe or rub the Pepper Gel away it begins to permeate the skin leaving your attacker in pain. If used properly indoors you don't have to worry about over-spray, as it will stay in the direction where its sprayed and will not affect others in close proximity. Pepper Gel is ideal for a car, recreational vehicle, camping or home.

This Pepper Gel has many convenient features including: longer distance range, stronger pepper mixture, sticks to the target like glue, its also less contaminating, and non-flammable.

Contains 20 one second bursts with a range of 15-18 ft.

The Wildfire 18% formula is one of the hottest, and more importantly, the fastest reacting spray we've ever tested. This spray immediately permeates the pores of the skin, closes the eyes, and inhibits the respiratory system. What makes this product so effective is the purity of the pepper used in formulating this product...only food grade grade 3 million or 4 million scoville heat units pepper used." - Larry Harris, Washington Labs
